I like the textures in this composition. I have never personally been this close to rail road tracks. The many-colored metals are interesting contrasted with the not-just-brown wood because the metal is uniform on the surface and the wood is cracked and grooved. The mottled collection of rocks add to the interest because in this shot none of the elements are pure. They are not pure in color or texture or size, they are all unique and individualized, but the irony of that is that we know there are miles and miles of rail and it only functions for the trains if it is uniform and there are millions of wood ties that all started out identical and these rocks all came from likely the same source. This slice out of a larger system could have so many meanings to authors of allegory or psychology, and it is interesting to the casual on-looker that gives it a little time.
