Geoff, I think it’s fantastic you’re so ambitious to take a photo a day! It’s certainly a challenge. One thing I’ve noticed is that with many of your photos the subject is directly in the center.
So I issue you a challenge, for one of your next photos, try using rule of thirds to guide your photo 🙂

I quite like this photo because the items featured seem to disagree. Generally you wouldn’t expect a green plant to be flowering in the snow much less to see a chicken standing out in the cold. Having chickens I know otherwise, but in my mind chickens belong in dusty streets and fenced in pens with no vegetation. While I would agree with Ryan, the eye of the chicken, that seems to be the emphasis, is in the upper third and that is where your eye is intially drawn.
