This is a great idea! I can see this shot on the cover of a collection of poetry about childhood memories. It’s whimsical instead of poignant because they are looking and smiling at the camera (hence at me) instead of gazing off into the distance or at each other. Very fun.

I love how the reflection does not necessarily define details (facial features, etc), but captures the vibrant colors of the clothes. Hence, it could be a timely photo if the clothes were from the 60’s or the 80’s or the 20’s.

Dawnean and I used to look into a puddle like that and with the reflection of the sky, you could imagine you were stepping off into a forever fall and it would surprise you when you hit the bottom so abruptly. Great imaginations, huh!?

That’s funny. I always thought about how deep a puddle might be — and loved wearing my irrigation boots so I could step in them and find out!
