I realized that I didn’t ever publish the winner for a previous contest. The winner was Darla Jones, and she (through no fault of her own) received her 20 photo flip book this past week. I quote:

Geoff: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Photokapi book. And my children are loving it, too! I am so glad I was the winner!!!

On that note, why not have ANOTHER contest?!

Prize: Photo of your choice from the blog framed and shipped to you (or hand delivered depending on location.)

Requirements:

Comment on at least 10 photos with a constructive criticism (or lavish praise).
Become a fan on Facebook, and for every friend you refer that also becomes a fan, you get an extra entry. Send me the names of the people you referred. (If you don’t have a Facebook account, you are still eligible, but get extra entries for getting me some extra fans on Facebook.)

Entry Deadline: July 1st, 2011, so start commenting!

New Contest: This one slightly different.

You must comment a total of 15 times by the end of March.
You may comment on pictures from last year, but at least 5 need to be from 2011.
There will be at least one winner, but maybe more, and they can choose from one of the following 9 photo sets. Images will be 4×6 and a set of 3 or 4 images depending on which set is chosen.
I have not decided on framing options yet, but they will probably be framed separately if at all.
For every 10 comments past 15, you will receive 1 additional entry into the contest.
Comments must be meaningful, but can be as simple as: “Wow I like this because of…” or Don’t really like this one because of…”

Ok, the rules are same as before, but with a little higher ante.

You are eligible to win again, even if you have won before.
You must comment on a total of TWENTY pictures between today and the end of the contest (December 31st).

The final prize is a coffee table book with at least TWENTY of your favorite pictures of the year. It will be at least 8×8, but depending on how many people enter there may be more than 1 prize given away as there has been in the past.

Ok, next contest. Prize: Photo of your choice framed.

Entry for this one is slightly more involved.

Get at least 2 of your friends to become fans on facebook and send me the names of who you referred for verification. (If you don’t have a facebook account, you are still eligible, but you need to get at least 1 friend who has facebook to become a fan.)
Comment on at least 10 photos.

We have 2 Winners! I changed my mind on the poster collage (mostly because I think for most people it would be hard to find a place to hang) So therefore, the prizes are as follows:

Ok, next contest! Prize: Collage poster print of related items. I haven’t decided if it will be your choice or mine, but it will be a nice prize either way.

Rules:

Must make constructive comments on at least 10 different posts. For every 3 comments thereafter, you earn another entry.
At least 3 of them must be on pictures that have no comments on them currently. (So, the sooner you make comments, the more there are to choose from.
Contest will end somewhere between July 15th and July 31, 2010 so get your entry in early.

Contest #1 Winner!

And we have a winner! Laura Orton was selected as this contest’s winner and chose the picture “On the Edge”. She will receive a framed 11 X 14 photo to display in her home.

As an added bonus, a second winner was selected as well, Darla Jones, and she will receive a framed 8×10 of her choice of photo to display in her home.

Thank you to all who participated, and watch for future contests and giveaways. I really appreciate all the constructive criticism, as well as the glowing compliments. Hopefully my photos continue to improve.

Announcing the first of hopefully many Photokapi contests!

The Prize:

A framed/matted photo of your choosing from the first 90 entries in the blog. I haven’t decided what size it will be yet, but it will be at least 8×10 but no bigger than 24×30. The winner will possibly be allowed to choose the size between those dimensions, and I will ship/bring it to wherever they might be.

The Rules:

To enter, simply comment on AT LEAST 10% (basically between 8-12) of the pictures on the Photokapi blog with constructive criticism/insight etc. (in other words, “nifty picture” or “good job” doesn’t cut it.)
You must post the comments on the Photokapi blog to be eligible, Facebook is nice, but comments have to be on the blog to count. (though you can put them BOTH places).
Not a rule, but I would appreciate you becoming a fan of Photokapi on Facebook and/or follow me on Twitter. Just search for Photokapi.
Contest ends on March 31, 2010. Any pictures posted up until that day are eligible to be won and framed.
The drawing will be held the 1st week of April, and the winner notified and glorified, then they can choose which photo they would like.
